After Dresden had been heavily destroyed in the bombardments in World War II, many historic sites have afterwards been carefully renovated and rebuilt. The last was the Frauenkirche, finished in 2005, built up again from its own remains that had been left for 50 years as a war memorial.

In these pictures I am trying to show the special beauty of selected places in Dresden during a calm night in snow. The lights and snow together create a unique peaceful atmosphere.
